CHISTRE is currently implementing a significant project in Bauchi State under the GC7 Global Fund initiative. This project focuses on tuberculosis (TB) case finding, prevention, treatment, and diagnosis across the state. Leveraging the Global Fund’s resources, CHISTRE collaborates with local healthcare providers and community-based organizations to enhance TB detection and care services. The project trains healthcare workers on the latest TB management protocols, ensuring accurate diagnosis and effective treatment. Community outreach programs are conducted to raise awareness about TB symptoms and prevention methods, reaching thousands of residents. These initiatives include educational workshops, distribution of informational materials, and free screening camps in remote areas.
By focusing on both urban and rural communities, CHISTRE significantly improves TB case detection rates and reduces the stigma associated with the disease. The project’s comprehensive approach is laying the foundation for sustained TB control efforts in Bauchi State, ensuring better health outcomes for its population. This initiative is scheduled to continue until 2026.
